Magan-djin Mega March for Palestine, August 24, 2025
Magan-djin/Brisbane really showed up for Palestine. 50,000 people defied constant attempts by pro-genocide Queensland Police, the LNP State Government and Zionist Corporate Media to downplay, sensationalise and derail the Brisbane leg of the Nationwide March for Gaza.

Bypassing the deliberate shutdown of half the train network, the refusal to let the March occur on the Story Bridge, and constant pro-genocide propaganda Media to paint people opposed to the vile actions of Israel as dangerous radicals, tens of thousands more people showed than expected, to resoundingly show that Australian people say to Stop the Bombing, Stop the Geocide, Let aid in Now, and to Sanction Israel immediately.
People started packing Queen's Gardens 3 hours before the start at 1pm, and by the time the rally was meant to leave, over 46,000 - possibly as large as 52,000 people, Half of the city streets all the way back to parliament, Elizabeth street.
People from all over Greater Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and even the Northern Rivers of NSW converged upon the Queen's Gardens, sharing stories of the points that motivated people to finally stand up. So many new faces, in addition to familiar friends who have showed up every time for two years, moved to act by the depravity of Israel's impunity, and fury at the absolute craven cowardice of the Australian government who continue to send critical weapons components and resources to power the Gazan Holocaust.
The Australian people resoundingly spoke from the heart and from the street on Sunday to demand Australia acts to stop the Genocide, and whilst momentum must be maintained, the Australian Government cannot hide from the anger that is there. This movement will escalate and finally have the momentum to begin mass direct action, unless the demand for basic justice for Palestine are met.
Hundreds of media FINALLY showed up to provide coverage, including a lot of new folks "Cashing in" after refusing to turn up for two years of genocide. Welcome as a delegation was our journalist's union MEAA, who had waited two years to attend a rally whilst 250 of our colleagues were drone struck and murdered by Israel. Better late than never, an indictment not on our union (who have been trying to organise), but on our industry that has shamefully failed to report truthfully on the genocide, instead parroting Ziomurderer's hasbara narrative control.
@JusticeforPalestine.Magandjin showed once again that they could smoothly scale up their expertise in organising safe, family friendly events and demonstrations - despite the hysterical lies of QPS, and their attempts to weaponise Police incompetence again by funnelling 50,000 people into single lane choke points. If it wasn't for the skill of JFP, there would easily have been police caused crushes, but the established marshalling system ensured that crowd flow was smooth with anti-crush pauses and gaps, which ensured no surge occurred.
Very few agitators dared to be present, with one single old boomer zionist wearing an "I stand with Israel" shirt seeking police protection from people ignoring him before the march started. A group of six White Nazis waved the Australian flag from the overpass at the Cultural Centre, but were quickly surrounded by riot police and media, whilst being drowned out by the 50,000 people. One marcher was led away after the Nazis tried to snatch a Palestinian flag, but later released, however one Nazi was arrested.
The march then went to Musgrave Park but dispersed quickly after listening for the next steps on how to escalate resistance against genocide.
